Terms of Service

The drafts are written by AI from the answers you give here. Check every name, date and fact before you use them.

Last updated: 2026-10-09.

These terms cover the AI Obituary and Eulogy Drafts website, run by Northgate Enterprises LLC, a Virginia limited liability company ("we", "us"). Contact: legal@northgate-enterprises.com. By paying for an order you agree to them. How we handle personal data is in the privacy policy.

What you buy

You fill in a questionnaire about a person who has died and pay once. We then write three drafts: a newspaper-length obituary, a funeral-program-length obituary and a eulogy. The drafts appear on a private order page, and we email you the link. There is no account. The price is the one shown on the payment page before you pay, and it is charged once per order. Payment is taken by Stripe, Inc. on its own payment page. We never receive or store your full card number. About your card, Stripe shows us the brand, the last four digits, the expiry date and the country.

We may stop taking new orders at times, for example when we have reached a daily limit on orders. An order you have already paid for is not affected by that.

AI-written content

Every draft is written by AI and says so. The drafts are not written or edited by a person. The page that shows them, the email that links to them and the end of each draft all carry this notice. Because AI can get things wrong, you must read every draft and check every name, date and fact before you print, publish or read it aloud. You are responsible for what you publish.

Before delivery we run a mechanical check that compares the names, dates and numbers in each draft with the answers you gave. A set of drafts that contains a name, date or number you did not supply is not delivered. The check cannot judge meaning, tone or whether a fact is attached to the right person, so it does not guarantee that a draft is accurate or suitable. We do not ask for the cause of death.

Your answers

You promise that the information you give is true as far as you know and that you are entitled to share it. You must be an adult. The drafts are written only from what you tell us, so a mistake in your answers will be in your drafts. Do not put payment card numbers or passwords in the questionnaire.

Revisions

Each order includes 2 revision rounds, which you request from your order page. A revision writes all three drafts again from your answers and your request. A revised set that fails the fact check is not used, does not cost a round and leaves your current drafts as they are. After 4 revision attempts that did not pass the fact check, the order page offers no further revision. Revisions can be unavailable for a while, for example when we have reached a daily limit on AI use. A refund is still available then.

Refunds

You can refund an order yourself from your order page, for 14 days after your drafts are delivered, with no questions asked. The button refunds the whole payment to the card you paid with, through Stripe. Your bank decides when the refund shows on your statement. After the 14 days the order page no longer offers a refund.

If we cannot write drafts that stay within the facts you gave us, we do not deliver any, we refund your payment in full and we email you to say so.

A refunded order cannot be revised.

No one on call

Nobody is on call to answer email, and we do not promise a response time to any message. Everything you need to read your drafts, request revisions and get a refund is on your order page and works without us. Because drafts are delivered automatically, we cannot fix a draft by hand: the remedies are a revision or a refund.

Your order link and deletion

Anyone who has your order link can read your drafts and use the refund button. Keep it private. We delete your answers, drafts and email address 30 days after delivery, so copy your drafts before then. The privacy policy explains the rest.

Who owns the drafts

We claim no ownership of your drafts. You may use them as you like, including in a newspaper notice, a funeral program or a service. Other people can receive similar text from AI tools, so we cannot promise that a draft is unique.

Limits of the service

The service is a writing aid. It gives no legal, financial or funeral-planning advice. A newspaper or funeral home may have its own rules, length limits and fees for what you submit, and those are not ours.

The service is provided as it is, without any promise that it will be available at all times or that a draft will suit your purpose, to the extent the law allows.

Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim about the service or an order is limited to the fees you paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, such as distress, or the cost of correcting a notice that was already printed or published. Nothing in these terms limits a liability that the law does not allow us to limit, or your rights as a consumer where you live.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, USA, without regard to its conflict of laws rules, except where the law of your home country gives you rights that cannot be waived.

Changes

If we change these terms we change the date at the top. A change applies to orders paid for after the date. For an order already paid for, the terms in force when you paid apply.
